What's new for the 2026 season?
This is my 29th season. I thought I'd be "retired" by now; however, I absolutely LOVE what I do and my clients as well. So I am dividing the entire 2026 instructional year into thirds — spring, summer, and fall. I am committed to a 2026 Spring Season running April 6th through June 15th. By June 1st, I'll see how I feel about doing a SUMMER SEASON which would start June 16th. On or about August 15th, I'll make a decision on committing to a FALL SEASON which would start September 1st.
How can I best stay informed about your golf instruction so I can become a confident, skilled golfer?
Good communication is foundational to all healthy relationships.
Please make sure you are on the Sunday Noon Update mail list. It reduces the number of phone calls, texts, and emails I receive with questions. This weekly update is delivered on Sundays between 11:55 AM and 12:05 PM beginning March 15th, 2026. If you did not get the 3/15 update, please email me at marian@yourgolfsolutions.com with PLEASE ADD ME TO SUNDAY LIST in the subject line. I will be happy to add you.
NOTE: Anyone who "unsubscribes" from this weekly email will not be added back in. Sorry, it's too complicated.
Adult Golf Instruction
What are the learning options for 2026?
- Purchase a STRIVER 2.0 MINI or a STRIVER 2.0 FULL learning program.
- Schedule either a stand-alone 1/2-hour with or w/o video or 1-hour lesson with or w/o video. Lessons w/o video are discounted.
- Share the fee for a 1.5-hour lesson for 2-4 adult golfers.
- Enroll into one or multiple Women Friday AM group sessions.
- Two friends/relatives can schedule back to back ½-hour lessons and both participate in the 1-hour lesson.
Do you offer lesson packages?
Most golfers looking for a lesson package are seeking a discount. The STRIVER 2.0 FULL learning program offers the best discount. All lessons and sessions are private and scheduled according to the golfer's preference. The STRIVER 2.0 is a comprehensive, structured program focused on RESULTS. My experience with most golfers purchasing packages is they have no plan or goals, schedule their lessons haphazardly, and unless they are highly motivated and disciplined they rarely make significant improvements. Therefore I haven't offered them for a few years now.
How does this year's lesson package work?
There is a 1.5 hour, 30-day STRIVER package which will be loaded into your online account as THREE ½-hour lessons. Golfers may schedule ONE ½-hour lesson at a time, TWO lessons back to back for an hour lesson, or all THREE lessons back to back for a 1.5 hour lesson. The expiration date is 30 days from the initial lesson. During this 30-day period, the golfer may participate in as many 30-minute "range practice sessions" as they like. I will load 20 of these sessions onto your account along with your 1.5 hour STRIVER package.
Will you please explain what the STRIVER 2.0 review/striking sessions are?
Coming soon …
Will I be the only STRIVER in the review/striking sessions?
Yes, all review/striking sessions are private. The only exception is if you and a friend/relative are each doing a STRIVER program and you choose to participate together.
When does my STRIVER learning package and review/striking sessions expire?
At the end of the Spring session which is June 15th. There are NO extensions or exceptions to this date. NONE. In extreme circumstances and with instructor permission, unused lessons may be transferred to a friend or family member and STILL must be used before June 15th.
May I purchase several STRIVER packages?
Yes, you may. If you purchase a STRIVER 2.0 Full Learning Program any lessons you schedule after completing the program and until June 15th will be at a 50% discount, including on course playing lessons.
Do I need to purchase my second STRIVER learning program immediately after my first package expires?
Not at all! However all SPRING STRIVER 2.0 programs expire on June 15th.
I have a STRIVER 2.0 FULL program. How do I claim my 50% discount on additional spring lessons?
When a golfer purchases a STRIVER 2.0 FULL program, a code will be added to their account to automatically apply the 50% discount when purchasing additional lessons.
Junior Golf Instruction (< 19)
Do you work with youngsters under age 7?
I have in the past for many years. While there may have been an exception or two, it's my experience that very young children do better playing putting or chipping games in the backyard with their parents, siblings, and neighbors. Teaching young, young children is not my forte. I can recommend another instructor though.
What do you recommend for my 9 y.o. who is interested in golf?
Get them a US Kids Yard Club which comes with a molded grip and buy Almost Golf Balls online. Let them swing in the yard a little. If they enjoy it and want to explore deeper, you may schedule a 1/2-hour junior lesson. All youngsters must come with at least 1 golf club.
My 14-y.o. only plays video games. I'm trying to convince him to take golf lessons. What do you suggest?
Believe it or not, this is fairly common these days. Unless he has a good friend who is also interested, there is only a slim chance you will be successful. Honestly, I am not open to working with anyone — junior or adult — who is taking lessons only because someone has talked them into it. Sorry, I'm human. This type of lesson isn't much fun for me. If he has a buddy who is interested in golf, maybe take them to the driving range, rent a club or two, and let them pound a bucket of golf balls. They will probably have fun, expend lots of energy, and over time may become interested in playing golf and taking lessons.
Weather Conditions for Golf Lessons
Do you cancel golf lessons if it will likely rain at lesson time?
I have given many lessons in the rain. I don't enjoy it. It's not my preference. I am somewhat limited in my ability to use my electronics (video). However, if the golfer has an urgent need i.e. upcoming competition etc. and wants to do a rainy lesson, I usually will agree to it.
May I cancel my lesson if it will likely rain during lesson time?
Absolutely! Here's how my weather (or other) cancellation policy works. First, know your weather sensitivities. Does heat, cold, humidity, wind, rain, etc. bother you? Everyone is different. I have a VERY generous 12-hour notice to cancel requirement. Especially if you are weather sensitive, you will want to check your weather apps the evening before your lesson. Based on the best information you have, you need to decide to cancel or not. If you do not cancel with at least 12 hours notice, you will be accountable for your lesson fee UNLESS the instructor ends up canceling the lesson the next day. If you are "on the fence", the best strategy is to cancel your lesson with at least 12 hours notice. If the next day, the forecast changes and the weather is to your liking, you can see if that lesson is still available for booking.
Will you contact me about weather-related lesson cancellations?
You should not wait for me to contact you. I don't know what your weather sensitivities are. If you are still on the schedule within 12 hours of your lesson, that means to me that you know your weather sensitivities (if any), you have checked your weather apps, and you have chosen to go ahead with your lesson anyway. On lesson day, I will have a more current radar to watch. If I determine that I don't want to work in the weather likely to be present at lesson time, yes I will contact you, cancel your lesson, and refund the entire fee.
Are you accurate at predicting weather?
Only as good as my weather app. I use the upgraded version of Storm Radar. It is fairly good but not perfect. Also please keep in mind the weather can change quickly especially with pop-up storms in the summertime.
What happens if we're in a lesson and it starts to rain?
If it's raining lightly, we continue. If it's pouring, we usually go to the cart barn since we are not under cover at the Renditions' range. If there is no lesson scheduled right behind yours, we can continue once the rain lets up. If there is someone waiting for their lesson to begin right after yours, we end the lesson at the scheduled time and I will refund your lesson fee on a prorated basis.
How does lightning affect lessons?
At the first lightning strike, the lesson is halted and we take cover. I wait until the lightning is at least 10 miles away before starting back up. The same restart and prorated lesson fee procedure as above applies.
